Castelo de Sonhos Drilling Update

February 7, 2012

HOUSTON, TX – The current drilling campaign being conducted by TriStar Gold Inc. at its 100% owned Castelo de Sonhos property in Southwestern Pará State, Brazil is well under way.

To date, a total of 29 diamond drill holes have been completed for a total of 4,812.60 meters of core drilling. This is part of the first phase of the planned drilling campaign comprising a minimum of 5,000 meters of drilling, aiming to cover the two main targets at Castelo de Sonhos project, the Esperança Center and Esperança South geochemical anomalies. Partial assay results have been received and when all results are in, the results will be announced. The receipt of assay results has been delayed due to the high volume of exploration activities in Brazil.

Exploration is ongoing with emphasis on geological mapping and soil sampling in the remaining areas of the Castelo de Sonhos plateau. Soil sampling is also under way over new targets defined by the airborne survey completed in October 2011. One of these geophysical targets is currently being drilled.
